Jack Hunter had himself a afternoon to remember.

The Calvary Christian Varsity Warriors outfielder went 3-for-3 with two RBI, pacing a balanced offensive attack that sent the Jefferson Varsity Dragons home with a 14-3 defeat on Saturday.

Hunter's singles in the second, fourth, and sixth innings kept the Warriors' lineup humming all afternoon, but he wasn't alone. Luke Straw also collected three hits and drove in two runs, while Jase Traina and Tripp Fecarotta each added a pair of RBI. Fecarotta drew three walks to lead the team in a disciplined plate appearance approach — the Warriors walked eight times as a team, a number that put constant pressure on Jefferson's pitching staff.

Calvary Christian tallied 12 hits on the day.

Jefferson actually drew first blood, scoring three times in the bottom of the first on back-to-back doubles by Ethan Savinon and Elijah Benton, followed by a John Oliver single. But the Warriors answered immediately, plating five runs in the top of the second to flip the scoreboard — and they never looked back.

On the mound, starter Jake Henderson worked two innings before giving way to Straw, who was dominant in relief. Straw threw four clean innings, allowing just two hits, striking out four, and walking two.

Jefferson's five-hit effort was spread among Benton, Oliver, Savinon, Alex Adkins, and Kaleb Cherry, but the Dragons couldn't sustain any momentum after the first inning.
